What did you know about CrossFit before coming here?

To be honest… not very much.

How did you find out about CrossFit and why did you start?

I had been going to the gym (not so regularly) and I hated it. I felt awkward and never knew what to do with all of the weird machines and contraptions and never felt like I could ask for help. I really want to be healthy and fit  but the gym that I was going to was not getting me there… and then poof… I saw the sign for Pivot Point Crossfit right down the street from my house. I researched it a little bit… still had no idea what i was getting myself into, I just knew I wanted to do something different. So I called my sister and told her we had to be there at 6 on a Tuesday and I have been addicted since.

How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle and level of fitness?

When I was going to the gym… I had to convince myself to go. Now, I cannot wait for CrossFit time! I have never pushed myself this hard, sweated this much, or been so sore… and I love every second of it.

How long have you been doing CrossFit?

2 Months.

What is your favorite movement?

Squats.  They have improved so much since I have started!!

Is there a workout or movement you would like to see more of?

The Bulgarian Split Squats. As much as I hated them… I loved them. I have a strong leg and a weak leg… and I feel like they really help me to improve the strength in my weaker leg.

Mandie JeepWhat are your goals for this year, and have you accomplished any goals already?

My goal is to continue to improve! I want to be better than I was yesterday! Yessss!!! I have been doing the KettleBell Program and started out at 18lbs and last class I completed 100 swings with a 35lb kettlebell!

Describe your biggest milestone, achievement or “A-ha” moment?

My “A-Ha” moment was when I was in the car with my baby sister (she is 8) and I reached for something and noticed that I had a muscle in my arm. AN ACTUAL MUSCLE! THAT YOU COULD SEE! At that moment I realized that all of my hard work, all of my sweat, and soreness was FINALLY breaking through and it was so worth it!

What do you like most about Pivot Point CrossFit?

The people that I get to see every time I walk through the door. To say I was terrified the first day of CrossFit would be an understatement. But everyone at PivotPoint is so welcoming, motivating, and just amazing that all of your anxieties and fears seem to disappear as soon as you walk in and say hello.

What encouragement or advice would you give to new people coming in?

Just try it!! You will be amazed at what you can do and what you can accomplish. You will be surrounded by amazing people that will push you and help you.

What are some of your hobbies?

I love camping, family time, arts & crafts, and reading.

I have met so many wonderful people at PivotPoint – everyone has helped me or pushed me in some way or another. I am beyond grateful to get to be a part of the PivotPoint family.
